Leon is not an American tourist destination. English signage was non-existent. Almost no one spoke English. But we thoroughly enjoyed the old town of Mexico\u2019s fourth most populous city and got a very authentic Mexican experience.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nIt\u2019s hard to describe what my expectations were with regard to moving to Mexico, but I was completely surprised by one thing I noticed yesterday \u2013 the numerous signs on stores looking for workers. We must have passed at least 5 stores with \u201cHelp Wanted\u201d signs. While America currently has low unemployment, I certainly didn\u2019t expect Mexico to have the same. (Wages are another thing though). Here in Leon, the rate is a bit higher at 4.5%, but it does look like jobs are available.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nEven after having been in Mexico numerous times in the past, and not just in tourist spots, I wouldn\u2019t have expected this. We experienced quite the opposite. In addition to the many Help Wanted signs, we were in a thriving business zone with hard-working professional people.
